Stay In Shape This Summer

You wanna be outside living your best life but you wanna have a hot girl summer. Here's how to do it.


Alright so since Megan Thee Stallion changed all of our lives and now we all want a hot girl summer, I figured I'd give some tips on what I did (and continue to do) to stay "in shape".


Ok so before anything, I know absolutely nothing, ok? I'm literally just gonna tell you guys exactly what I do that helped me see a difference in the way I look and feel. I DO go to the gym, but I'm active outside of that. So here are some of my favorite ways to stay active during Summertime:

  1. Take advantage of walking everywhere. Literally. I LOVE to walk. And I LOVE finding cute little towns or new spots that I can explore. Throw on some headphones and let your Spotify shuffle take over. If you need a good playlist, I GOT YOU. I am the queen of Spotify playlists for every mood. If you're not super into listening to music all the time, podcasts it is. If you're unsure, listen to MY PODCAST. Yes everyone. If you missed my last blog post, I started a podcast 'Listen, It's The Girls Room' with one of my Instagram friends. We like to talk about motivation, side hustles, growing up, life hacks, tips 'n' tricks, and we love playing games. You can find us on any major platform (Spotify, Apple, etc). But back to the point - listening to a good 45 min podcast episode just helped you knock out like 5k steps right there. Start walking more!

  2. Enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables. Ugh. Summertime makes me think of the sweetest, most refreshing, juiciest fruits. Peaches, berries, mango... Skip the processed juices and punches and take advantage of eating fruits that leave you feeling satisfied and hydrated. You can also get creative and make your own popsicles!

  3. Stay hydrated. Speaking of screwing the juice lol, stay hydrated! I can't tell you how many times I thought I was hungry when in reality I was just extremely thirsty and dehydrated. If you suck at drinking water, get a tracker. Honestly, I use My Fitness Pal to track what I eat but one of the most exciting parts is adding in my water and watching the oz's go up lol! Wake up and chug water. Buy a 32 oz or 64 oz jug so you can keep track all day. Stop substituting your water for more food that you don't actually need.

  4. Start cookin'. Yup. That simple. Learn healthy and easy alternatives to your favorite meals and get cooking! I know eating out is tempting, but learn to fall in love with the process of learning a new skill. -Also, increase your protein intake ESPECIALLY if you work out. It's more filling and it's what you're probably lacking when you're always hungry and you don't see results. Do your research and figure out your macros. Again, I use My Fitness Pal (not sponsored lol I literally just love the app). It's a fun way to track how you're eating. Plus, when you cook at home you know exactly what you're putting into your body!

The most important part of all of this is to make sure you aren't being so hard on yourself! It's ok to have cheat days, it's ok to mess up, and it's ok to have cravings. It's ok to feed your body. It takes care of you. Take care of it back :)
